Choosing Joy!

Hi all! Welcome to Choosing Joy, a blog for those of you who want to live a joyful life amidst challenging health issues. My name is Marci, and I'm a Covenant Life Coach from Wisconsin. I live with my husband, Kevin, of 37 years. I'm also a fun mom of 4 children (2 adults and 2 teenagers) and a grandma of soon to be 7 grandchildren. I describe myself as a full-on country girl who loves her horses, goats and dogs (and hopefully chickens and ducks in the near future). I love to breathe in the country air and just be outside appreciating God's gifts of nature. Playing piano is a hobby I find relaxing and beautiful, and I'm working towards making it a more daily activity. I am also the owner and operator of Bed & Biskit LLC, a dog boarding kennel in my 17th year. So what does this have to do with "choosing joy"?

I have developed a passion for helping those of you who are dealing with a diagnosis, whether personally or that of a loved one, and showing you that an illness doesn't mean you have to live in fear, confusion, lack or hopelessness. I am here to help build your awareness around the options available to you in all areas of your life and help you move toward making your desired goals your reality. I will help you see that there is so much hope that, despite the difficulties you face in this moment, you can still choose to live in joy and peace.

You now might be asking what qualifies me to coach you through all of the issues that result from a scary diagnosis. In the early spring of 2020, the pandemic became a thing and many businesses were devastatingly impacted. My kennel was no exception. As our primary source of income, our revenue significantly decreased, 40% - 60% at any given time. Shortly after, my husband was diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer. Unfortunately, or fortunately in my case, I have experienced many of the same challenges with my faith, finances, family relationships, fitness, home and personal freedom that you may be facing. I say fortunately because even though it's the most difficult thing we've ever had to endure, countless blessing grew from the diagnosis that otherwise may not have ever surfaced. That's why I'm here!

I understand the impact of coaching, not only as a coach, but also as a client. I found an amazing life coach who has helped me navigate through the pain and fear, zero in on negative patterns and live a life without limits. Coaching leads to revelation and changes lives.

My blog will be snapshots of what my family and I have and will continue to experience and how we choose to move through them. Each week I will be sharing the daunting moments along with the joyful ones to demonstrate that every day we wake up, we have a purpose--a reason to move forward. I am excited to share the wisdom I have acquired through the laughter and the tears, and I invite you to comment and share your thoughts and feedback.  

My goal for this blog is to reach thousands of you who are in need of support during these trials and for you to know that there is someone out there who will partner with you in pain as well as in progress. I can bridge the gap between where you are right now and where you want to be. Coaching led me here. Imagine where it could take you!
